Rules
Rules
While it may seem lengthy, please read through the rules as there are some which are specific to Onward Mud.
Breaking these rules may lead to account suspension, a ban, or a removal of roleplay points. Please review them thoroughly before you begin. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us in the forums or by logging a ticket at www.onwardmud.com/request for clarification.
Account Restrictions
- You must be eighteen or older to play Onward. Onward is a roleplaying game with mature themes that are not suitable for those under the age of eighteen.
- No Multi-accounting or Account Sharing, you may only play on one account. As a player, you are allowed only one account, which is strictly for personal use and cannot be shared with others. If multiple people will be playing Onward from the same internet connection, please notify the staff to avoid any issues with our automatic detection systems. Additionally, do not share your password with anyone for any reason.
Game Mechanics
- Game Bugs must not be exploited. Exploiting bugs for personal gain or to disadvantage other players is strictly prohibited. If you encounter a bug, please report it immediately through the ticket system on our website. Do not share or discuss the bug publicly.
- You cannot roleplay abilities your character does not mechanically possess.
- The mechanical outcome of combat cannot be altered through roleplay.
- PKilling link-dead characters is strictly prohibited. Initiating combat with a link-dead character is against the rules. If you believe a player has disconnected to avoid combat or the outcome of combat, please submit a ticket for investigation.
- Killing a character without IC motivation strictly prohibited. To demonstrate IC motivation, you must use tools such as "think" commands, emotes, in-character discussions, or by logging your characters motivations with the Journal command. If the murder is planned, this also qualifies as valid motivation. Ensure that your actions are rooted in roleplay and not driven by out-of-character (OOC) reasons.
- Observe proper etiquette before initiating an attack on another character. Walking into a room and immediately attacking another character is viewed as poor form. Uuse emotes, tell, or say to communicate your intentions and provide the other character an opportunity to respond before attacking codedly, where appropriate. This ensures the roleplay remains respectful and engaging for everyone involved
Roleplay Restrictions
- OOC knowledge bleed is not allowed. Your characters will not know everything you do. If one of your characters has not learned about something within the game, then they are not allowed to know it, even if you as the player have heard about it through another character or source OOCLY. Carrying over OOC knowledge to IC is commonly referred to as knowledge bleed, and it applies to deaths of other characters, assaults, theft, among other things - and is against the rules.
